COOL OPERATOR

A couple of years ago we chose to mark 13th February — the anniversary of Simon’s passing — with the release of the first two sets of Simon Dixon Art Cards, featuring selected images from his paintings. What had long been a deeply sad date became an opportunity to create something positive, honouring our friend, son, brother, artist, and all-round top bloke.

The collections feature five iconic Elvis works alongside five classic Rock ’n’ Roll portraits, celebrating Simon’s distinctive style and love of music and pop culture. A percentage of profits was donated to The Brighton Unemployed Centre Families Project, supporting people experiencing hardship within the local community.

REGGAE RUMBLE

Two new sets of Simon Dixon Postcards, along with a hand-pulled silkscreen print will be released at the end of February 2026.

One postcard set features his record-label paintings, paying homage to reggae music’s golden age and Simon’s love of 7-inch vinyl. Each image reimagines iconic record labels — the bold graphics, hand-stamped text, and timeworn paper textures of 7-inch singles — as colourful celebrations of sound and subculture.

The other set is a collection of black and white postcards created from Simon’s original sketches and illustrations. It celebrates his hand-drawn work and brings to life some of the humorous pieces he originally made purely for the craic — drawn for his own amusement and shared with friends as a reminder of some of the infamous characters they crossed paths with along the way.

ROCKSTEADY

A3 The Catfish Club2.png

'Catfish Club' captures the raw energy of Simon Dixon’s black-and-white work drawings & illustrations, and his deep love of music-led subcultures.

Originally created for club flyers and posters, the image draws on the spirit of 1960s and 70s Jamaican rocksteady, reggae and ska, blending sharp graphic lines with hand-drawn lettering and attitude.

Rooted in nights out, sound systems, and shared musical discovery, this piece reflects Simon’s instinctive ability to bottle the spirit of a scene into something bold, immediate and timeless.

This is artwork made for the street, the dancefloor, and the walls of the venues it once promoted — now given new life as a printed piece to be collected, shared and enjoyed.

To mark Simon’s anniversary in 2026, we have created a hand-printed silkscreen print based on his original drawing.

The print is made to honour Simon’s work and keep it alive in the world. A percentage of proceeds from each sale will be donated to the Brighton Unemployed Centre Families Project, supporting their work providing advice, education and practical help for people on low incomes.
